COLCHESTER LOCAL GROUP- AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL
The Colchester Local Group of Amnesty International relies heavily upon the efforts of very few people to do the essential work required to keep the group going. We are now in need of further help in connection with some of our most important work.
For example, we urgently need people to take on the work concerning Children's Rights. We also need somebody to take on the Death Penalty campaign. These are good opportunities to build up specialist Human Rights knowledge.
The responsibilities are straightforward and include: maintaining contact with the Country Co-ordinator within the Headquarters of Amnesty International UK, making available or distributing material received that requires action to the appropriate people in the Colchester Group, (letter writers and officers), and generally keeping the Group informed.
As well as these specific areas of interest, there are lots of other ways in which you may help the Colchester Local Group.
The Colchester Local Group will always welcome anyone who has the time and enthusiasm to take on any role that improves its work. We are always open to creative ideas for meetings and, in particular, fundraising.
If anyone feels that they could perform one of these roles or if you know of someone who would be interested then please contact us. Alternatively, please feel free to come along to any of the monthly meetings which take place on the 4th Wednesday of every month at the Friends Meeting House in Church Street, Colchester. The meetings are friendly and informal and youll even get a free cup of coffee!
The Colchester Local Group acknowledges the essential and important information at the International Secretariat site at www.amnesty.org and the UK Section site at www.amnesty.org.uk
